Wrath of the Lich King not Installing
by Hitoku | 18/05/2010 14:03:11![]() I'm new to gaming on a MacBook Pro (I've been using macs for about two years, just not for gaming), so sorry if I sound ignorant of Macs and gaming :). I recently go my MBP 13" as a graduation gift. Before this, I was playing WoW on my Dell desktop, but had to stop as it stopped working well (it's about six years old). But I digress... I installed Vanilla WoW and WoW: BC easily using the Installer tool for Macs on the WoW site. Both of these downloads went without an issue. However, now as I try to install WotLK, I am getting an error along the lines of "Installer data cannot be found". I do not have a WotLK disc either, as I upgraded and downloaded online on my Dell. As I'm posting this, 3.2.0 is being installed, so I'm wondering if there is no need to install WotLK, or what the fix is for this problem. Thanks in advance. |
by Radoslawn | 18/05/2010 14:49:26![]() Hello Hitoku, Don't patch until you have the WotLK data installed, otherwise you will wind up doing more work than you need to on top of the triple work you already have done. To resolve the installer data not found issue, go into your Mac HD => Users => Shared ƒolder and delete the Blizzard ƒolder, and now run the installer. Also the reason why I said you already did triple the work, check out the following sticky I made for you guys: Install/Reinstall WoW - stop working so hard Also welcome to the Mac side and the Mac Tech Forums. Since you are new to the Mac Platform be sure to get some type of fan control program to keep your new baby nice and cool. No matter how simple the ??? seem, we were all nbs at one time.
