WoW under Vista SP1 sporadic lag

I will first say that I am not sure that this is related to Vista SP1 but only a suspision. I run WoW on two machines, my home (AMD quad core, ATI 3850) and on my development machine (NVIDIA Quadro, Intel dual core). Because of it being my dev machine, I installed SP1 from MSDN weeks ago. Since then when playing WoW gameplay will lag horribly. At first I thought it was the connection (although the connection is usually very good). I thought it was the dev machine (as it's a notebook).

Now that SP1 went public, it installed on my home machine. Until then WoW on my home machine has been flawless pegged at 60FPS always and superb ping times. Now I am experiencing the same "lag" that I am on my notebook which had SP1 weeks ago.

To clarify what the lag is even with a green bar, suddenly gameplay will "stop" and then everything fast forwards. The bar will go yellow/red to reflect this then go back to green.

This occurs very frequently and is extremely annoying when playing PvP as it's almost unusable.

Now this very well might be due to network issues, but due to the coincedence I felt this should be noted.

If I find anymore details I would like to forward that information along, is this the only means of communication at this point?

Hi Atehrani,

If you can rule out that other factors (older chipset drivers, network card checksum offload misbehaving, any type of security software not liking something, etc) are not the culprit, information would help. Currently I have 4 Windows Vista SP1 machines (1x Home Premium 32-bit, 2x Home Premium 64-bit, 1x Business 64-bit) and I haven't noticed any type of latency increases. I stay at around 180ms at home and about 80 here at work.
