hi guys, please help me out. I decided to do a reinstall for windows 7 because i wanted a fresh start, now when i installed my video card and stuff i then installed wow with my CD, i have had wow on this laptop before and this has never happened to me but each time i get to like 20% of the install this happens -

An error was detected while verifying the contents of the file "C:\Users\Public\Games\World of Warcraft\Data\common-2.MPQ". There may be a problem with your system, or with the drive at C:\. You can attempt to install again. If this problem persists, please contact Blizzard Technical Support.

idk what that means but ive tried so many times to install wow, so many things like ive reinstalled windows 7 again like 4 times i have also tried copying all CD files to desktop to install from folder and it didnt work, ive tried safe mode bla bla bla can someone plz help me? i really wanna play wow because my game card is running out:(

Hi Wreckar,

You usually get failed verifications when you either have bad RAM or forgot to install your motherboard chipset drivers. Most Windows 7 systems work fine with the default Microsoft drivers but you may want to check your motherboard manufacturer's site for any information regarding that.

What OS did you have previously, and is this a 64-bit version of 7? If you have lots of RAM, you could have unknowningly blocked out bad parts of your memory with an older 32-bit operating system.
