Hello Kevinzeb,

So where did you install WoW ?

And did you do a file search : command + f or just use spotlight ?

Hello Kevinzeb,

OSX is an operating system, you can't download things to the operating system. Did you install the game to the Applications Æ’older as that is the default ? Also use the File Search to look for World of Warcraft, spotlight will not have the latest data on it yet.

Hello Kevinzeb,

Let's go back a bit, just so I can see what you were doing:

Did you install from a disk or download and install from a downloaded installer ? If it was a download, how long did the entire process take ? 5 mins or 2 hours, it would be a significant time difference.

Also for file search, press: command + f
- select your Mac and select File Name, and finally type; World of Warcraft in the search box.

Hello Kevinzeb,

Since the File Search isn't finding the game, let's see what else we can find. Since you downloaded the installer to your desktop is it still there ?

Also what do you see in the Mac HD => Users => Shared Æ’older ?

And are you on an Admin user on this Mac ?

Hello Kevinzeb,

If the game is on the desktop why didn't search find it ? Also why is the game on the desktop and not the Applications Æ’older ?

The Mac HD is your hard drive.

Hello Kevinzeb,

Since you moved the World of Warcraft Æ’older to the Applications Æ’older, let's delete that Blizzard Æ’older from the Mac HD => Users => Shared Æ’older, to make a new link to the game. Now try running the World of Warcraft launcher.app inside the World of Warcraft Æ’older.

The problem with having the game on the desktop is that you are adding an extra layer of permissions into the mix.

Hello Kevinzeb,

Something is very wrong then. The game needs a Data folder and other components to run. Where is the World of Warcraft launcher.app then ? Do you just have the World of Warcraft.app in the Applications folder ?

Hello Kevinzeb,

We need to completely start fresh, there's no point of trying to find needles in hay stacks...

And delete that temp folder, it shouldn't be in the Applications Æ’older.

In order to remove World of Warcraft safely from your system, please do the following:

1. go to your Macintosh HD => Applications folder (or wherever you saved the game) and move your World of Warcraft to the Trash (or just the game, since that's all you seem to have)
2. go to your Macintosh HD => Users => Shared folder and move the Blizzard folder to the Trash
3. go to your Macintosh HD => Users => your account => Library => Preferences and delete any files associated with WOW:
(some files may not appear due to non-use)

- com.blizzard.downloader.plist
- com.blizzard.Downloader.prefs
- com.blizzard.errorreporter.plist
- com.blizzard.Installer.plist
- com.blizzard.launcher.plist
- com.blizzard.World of Warcraft.prefs
- com.blizzard.World of Warcraft.survey.prefs

4. empty Trash

To reinstall the game, please do the following:

5. Install the Wrath of the Lich King from the DVD or downloaded installer, which will install the original World of Warcraft, Burning Crusade and the Wrath of the Lich King in one take.
6. patch to the latest version of the game

All installers can be downloaded from your account web site (you will need to log into your account):
