Will we ever get longer macros?

Simple question. Will we ever get the ability to write macros longer than 255 characters?
The new macro system is so powerful, I could easily write macros that exceed 255 characters, and routinely fight the 255 limit to make macros fit.
Here's an example...
I have a macro on my paladin that will cast Heal on my mouseover target, if they exist and are friendly, or on my current target, if it's friendly, or on myself if I have no target (and no mouseover target). If I hold down Alt while pressing that macro key, it will cast my bubble.
Now, I could add more functionality to that same macro, if I had room. For example, I could set it to cast a lower level of heal if I hold down ctrl, and I could get it to cleanse if I hold down ctrl and alt, etc etc...
I could create a buff macro that lets me choose to cast might, wisdom, freedom, etc blessings depending on how I hold down alt, shift, or ctrl, and depending on mouseover, target, or selfcast, if I had the room.
I've been working hard to squeeze ALL functions of my characters onto they 14 keys of my nostromo N52, and the new macro system has finally given me the ability to make it all fit, but now the bottleneck I keep running into is the macro character limit.
