Why would DP be neccesary for Prot?
by Zipo | 03/04/2009 04:51:33![]() Whenever I'm prot (and I'm called on a lot to tank random stuff here and there), I never find myself needing DP. Ever. SA (which prot pallies will still have in 3.1) gives me everything I need, and when I'm ret I can see how it is helpful in keeping a good level of mana but... I just don't get why Blizzard has emphasized that they want it to be useful for ret & prot when I don't really see it's usage as a prot paladin myself (often). I can't think of very many situations in which DP has been neccesary (or even somewhat useful) in helping me tank more efficiently. I have tanked Full Naxx 25, Malygos 25, all the 10 mans. I have not yet tanked any position in Sarth3d for 10 or 25 man. I have tanked in Sarth 2d though (The drakes). [ Post edited by Zipo ] Time may tell, but impatience will always get the better. |

Well, in many situations, I find that Divine Plea is very helpful. Particularly when I'm an off-tank. Aside from that when I help people through 5 man heroics, I generally do not "take" enough damage to actually generate mana back adequately without the assistance of Divine Plea. On a side note, if I was wearing straight-up holy regen gear, I doubt it would be an issue for me either. I kid, I kid. |
