Hello to the World of Warcraft community! Following the announcement to StarCraft II, we have recognized that there are many StarCraft fans and those curious about Blizzard’s RTS (Real Time Strategy) titles in the World of Warcraft community. In response, we’ve created these forums to give you a place to discuss one of Blizzard’s most anticipated titles, StarCraft II.
My name is Karune, your RTS Community Manager. I’m here to help shed light upon StarCraft II questions you may have and to help develop a closer relationship with you, the fans, and the developers at Blizzard who are working hard to create great gaming experiences for you.

StarCraft Background
For those of you who are not familiar with the original StarCraft, it was the first of its kind to feature three extremely unique factions, the Terran, Protoss, and Zerg, in an epic scale sci-fi RTS with a deep Blizzard style storyline. The original StarCraft, with nearly 10 million units sold worldwide, has influenced the RTS genre for many years after its release. Nine years after the release, it still remains as one of the most played RTS games in the genre.
StarCraft II aims to bring back all that fans have loved about the original game and to build upon all the characteristics which made the original game successful worldwide.
