Wanted: Bladefist's Seal MIA
by Fallboy | 28/12/2007 17:05:45![]() Ok so the daily heroic quest yesterday was : "Wanted: Bladefist's Seal" 5 hrs in that place and after replacing lots of ppl for many reasons we finly down the last boss. The drop rate says 100% Bladefist's Seal and yes it was a heroic setting. 5:00pm server time ... heroic ID 1800800 so because Bladefist's Seal didn't drop I put in a ticket and once again a GM is unavailable but this is the email I get: (Lets go throught this for a sec) Thank you for contacting the World of Warcraft Game Master Department. After some research, it has been determined that the quest which you reported should be functioning properly. Game Masters are unable to provide hints regarding how to complete this quest. The following suggestions may be of assistance in your attempt to complete the quest: 1) Please read your quest log carefully and check the bank for any quest items. Quest item cant be in the bank because it is a drop from him. So this doesn't apply 2) Please check to see if you are in a Raid Group while trying to complete your quest. Unless a quest is designated as a "Raid" quest in your quest log, you will not receive quest items (or credit for quest-related kills) while in a raid group. This is part of intended functionality. To see if you are in a raid group, please click on the social button (default key: ‘O'). In the social window, the furthest tab on the right contains all raid information. If you are in a raid, then quest items will not drop, and quest kills will not count. You can RAID Shattered Halls last I checked, and it was set to heroic 3) If you are running a third-party (custom) User Interface, please uninstall it and try to complete the quest again. No custom UI's were being used at the time that would affect a drop and if there is any then I have a serious question about why custom UI's are allowed. This would mean that we can affect the drop of items buy what UI's we use 4) Please try abandoning and re-acquiring the quest. Ok so you want me to spend another 5 hrs in there and so this again .... I didn't it once this is a very unreasonable request considering what I went through the 1st time If none of these suggestions resolves your issue, we recommend inquiring with fellow players in-game or seeking assistance on our forums (http://forums.worldofwarcraft.com/). No one in the party got the item, and we all confirmed the settings of the instance and the quest most of us had already done many times. We are also pleased to offer the World of Warcraft Knowledge Base at (http://www.blizzard.com/support/wowgm/). Thank you again for contacting us. We hope you continue to enjoy your experience in World of Warcraft! *** Please do not respond to this email as all conversations on this matter would be best handled online. *** Regards, Pinstti Game master Ok so this was a cookie cutter response, and the after submiting a second ticked, this time to try and talk to a GM once again couldn't meet me when I was online this is what I got Thank you for contacting the World of Warcraft Game Master Department. Unfortunately, we are unable to fulfill your request at this time. Though our goal is to attend to each and every petition we receive, certain actions are beyond the scope of the Game Master Department. We regret any inconvenience you may have been caused. Should you require further assistance, please submit another help request the next time you are online. We hope you continue to enjoy your experience in World of Warcraft! For any game play questions, please refer to our site at http://www.blizzard.com/support/wowgm/ *** Please do not respond to this email as all conversations on this matter would be best handled online. *** Regards, Drotest Game Maste In the past I have had things like this happen and normally this item appear in the mail from the GM's with an apology. Now I would never relay go to this extent however we followed the quest, and I personally spent 5 hrs in there mostly from having to replace ppl. We completed the quest as per the instructions and to not get the reward ..... well whats the point of having quest then If we cant get our reward? I'm looking for 2 Badge of Justice and 13g 20s (+ 11g 40s at level 70) or at LEAST THE 2 Badge of Justice. I have played the game to the rules stated and followed the quest as per instructions I think this is only fair. 70 Priest - 70 Mage (For the Alliance) |

It should be noted that, so long as every person who leaves the group to make way for another player actually zones out of the instance — as opposed to merely logging out inside it — no ill-effects should befall your party. It is only when a player, offline but still technically inside the instance, is counted as the "sixth" member of the group do issues begin to arise, as that is one too many to be assigned to the Raid ID.
As others have noted, you would not necessarily see that your group has been converted to Raid; given the nature of Heroic instances — in that characters are saved to a particular iteration of them for a finite amount of time — all Heroic groups are essentially "Raids," and possess IDs which persist longer than those of a normal instance. The difference is that Heroic "Raid" groups allow five-person quests to be completed, so long as only five people saved to the Raid ID are inside at any given time. Even if you only have five people killing a given boss, you must also ensure that there is no one lurking elsewhere in the instance, logged out but still counted against your total, or sadly no quest items shall drop. I regret that you were introduced to this mechanic only after your gameplay was impacted by it, Fallboy, but I hope this information shall aid you in avoiding such an unfortunate situation in the future; may you find naught but success in your subsequent Heroic daily quest attempts. :) |

As Geden has stated, it is regrettably not possible to do so; my recommendation would be to ensure that the player leaving the party is aware of these restrictions, and either hearths out, gets ported out, or exits manually (the horror!) before they depart. May Fortune smile on you. :) |

I've actually been in some rather successful Heroic PUGs, though I'll admit they don't always go smoothly... >.> |

That's an interesting trend in tank gear, actually, especially for Feral druids (who don't benefit from the parry or block from Defense, anyway). I'm working toward the Gladiator's Dragonhide Spaulders for my druid, as the stats, armour, and Resilience lend themselves well to tanking. :) |
