/w from players selling gold

It seems like I have a sign on my back saying I'm interested in buying gold. Or maybe this is a new trend of players whispering other players if they're interested. Lately, I've received whispers from legit looking names (not just a random jumble of letters) that are level 80 toons. I would reply thinking that it's a player using /who looking for a DPS to fill out that last raid spot. Surprise! "Are you interested in some cheap gold?"

Have gold sellers refined their technique that they're all now sporting level 80 toons? Are these "legit" players trying to make an extra buck? Do I report these guys, or will /ignore be enough?

So... just use right click and report spam.

Using the right-click Report Spam feature is probably the best way to go. It alerts us to the character's activities, which affords us a chance to investigate, as well as ignoring all characters on the reported account until you relog.

It is best to keep in mind that everyone is responsible for abiding by our policies at all times, even when dealing with those who are already breaking our policies. It's wisest to simply report and move on - we'll be more than happy to investigate, and you can continue to enjoy World of Warcraft with minimal interruption.
