when trying to log into the US Beta Realm. You will more than likely get an unable to connect message. Do me a favor and post the following, with your reply: - Mac OS Version - Do you have Firewall on in the OS - Brand of Router (if using one) - Go to Applications => Utilities and open Terminal: - - copy & paste the results from typing nslookup darkportal.battle.net [ Post edited by Radoslawn ] Let me know how I'm doing... https://www.surveymk.com/s.aspx?sm=OXrtw1WfuVlU_2fd_2bJQf0JSg_3d_3d |
by Radoslawn | 12/08/2008 16:08:16![]() Evening Slippy, Do me a favor and trash your Cache folder in the World of Warcraft folder, then do the following: - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - The DNS cache may need to be flushed. To do this go into the Terminal (Go > Utilities > Terminal) and type in the following: lookupd -flushcache - press Return ( The system will not give any type of acknowledgment after you run the command. ) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Reset PRAM: (Note: in order for this procedure to work the sound must be working normally and not muted) 1. (re)start the computer 2. right after the initial system chime press Opt+Apple+p+r 3. hold these keys down until you get two more chimes 4. let go of the keys and let the system boot up naturally (do not press any keys) ( If sound is not an option: press the keys stated above right after the (re)start, and instead of listening for the 2 chimes, the screen will flash white 2 times.) Try the game after performing these commands. Let me know how I'm doing... https://www.surveymk.com/s.aspx?sm=OXrtw1WfuVlU_2fd_2bJQf0JSg_3d_3d |
by Radoslawn | 12/08/2008 16:14:50![]() Evening Reks, One thing about Vista is that you have to remember to run the game as admin anytime you delete the Cache, Interface and WTF folder, otherwise it recreates them from the virtual store. So after you delete those folders, go to the launcher or shortcut and right click and "run as admin". If it still gives you an issue try flushing your DNS cache... 1. Click the Microsoft Vista Start logo in the bottom left corner of the screen 2. Click All Programs 3. Click Accessories 4. RIGHT-click on Command Prompt 5. Select Run As Administrator 6. In the command window type the following and then hit enter: ipconfig /flushdns 7. You will see the following confirmation: Windows IP Configuration Successfully flushed the DNS Resolver Cache. Hopefully we'll get this under wraps, and I can finally give you guys some useful help. Let me know how I'm doing... https://www.surveymk.com/s.aspx?sm=OXrtw1WfuVlU_2fd_2bJQf0JSg_3d_3d |
by Radoslawn | 18/08/2008 14:46:22![]() Evening Everyone, Thank you all for all the data it helped us track this down. There should be a patch via the launcher ( through the game won't work ) hopefully soon. I know, but it can't be sooner since it still needs a few tweaks to solve a few other issues as well.
