ToU and chat disruptions.
by Razthepriest | 19/05/2010 22:33:00![]() There is a number of people on our server running a mod that usually states repeated messages or just goes on to say "reported" as soon as it runs into profanity in a chat channel. Players running this mod are allowed to afk and let the mod do its work by griefing trade with pointless "reported" "this is the last time i'm telling you ______" "I hope this gm ticket gets to you _____" messages. What I'm asking is would these actions fall against the ToS under: (iv) Sending repeated unsolicited or unwelcome messages to a single user or repeatedly posting similar messages in a Chat area, including without limitation continuous advertisements to sell goods or services due to the repetition of messages (especially with none being actual reports since the mod constantly calls out the same people during the same game session when the report spam feature serves for the whole logged session)? Edit: The mod also criticizes those who use the acronym "pst" as a verb, making use of repetitive responses. [ Post edited by Razthepriest ] |

This is an entirely reasonable response and has the added benefit of ignoring all characters on the player's account. An Addon which generates 'clutter' in public channels can cause one to run afoul of our spamming policies. On the same token, I hope that you will take the time to submit an actual report regarding any profanity or inappropriate language you might run across in public channels as well. “No snowflake in an avalanche ever feels responsible.” - Voltaire |
