Hey Guys,

We have made a number of changes to Tol Barad and are looking to get some good feedback from the beta players. First off, a few of the big changes.

-Siege Engine HP tripled to 1.35m.
-Tower HP reduced from 180000 to 150000.
-Vehicles now protected from 99% of damage until someone hops in the first time.
-There’s now a Spiritual Immunity Area Aura given by the Spirit Healers at all GYs.
-4 guards have been added to the bridge spawn point to protect it.
-The queing system has been modified to keep the balance of players on each team at the same value. The system will not let someone else queue for a team until the balance falls out of sync.

The test is scheduled for 4pm PDT tomorrow (Wednesday the 27th) on the Lost Isles beta server. You must be level 85 to queue for the battle and we will be on hand to speed up the time between games. We will use this thread for feedback after the test so please come back to the forums and post your thoughts!

Especially with a hunter using Distracting Shot, you wouldn't even need a tanking class to tank them. Is it intended for them to be so easily be killable? Sure, in some (most?) situations, there will be action going on around the player so he/she probably won't be able to kill the guard uninterrupted, but currently on Mekkatorque at least, it's easily possible to do this, and I'm sure it's the same case in any other server that has a much higher population on one side than the other.

If the guards are truly intended to guard the spawn point of the attacking side, they must have some sort of ranged attack which hurts a lot that they use when no-one is in melee range as well as be untauntable. The 2 guards in a pair must also be linked to one another imo.


The bridge guards have been buffed appropriately and should be updated via a hotfix in time for the playtest today.

Can you clarify? Last night the load balancing was in place and at no time did either side have more than 1 or 2 players more than the other, even when we were over 125 players on each side.

This is incorrect. Portals exist in Stormwind and Orgrimmar that take players directly to Tol Barad (requires level 85). In addition, Mages learn both a teleport and a portal spell to Tol Barad at level 85. If either of these options still don't cover you, you can purchase the faction themed tabards in Tol Barad as they have a 4hr teleport to the island as an on use effect.
