I'm going to do my best to maintain those threads and update as much as possible each month so that people looking for current discussions on a topic that have Blizzard interaction can be easily found. The idea (I hope) is that it will help both the community and the developers with keeping discussion focused and in specific threads.

That said, Ghostcrawler will still be here posting as he can, but he gives his time as he can and more in depth involvement would come at the expense of development time.

We'll see how the stickies work out and if it's a good tool for everyone to keep tabs on ongoing conversation and should there be need for more, we'll discuss it.

.

So if i'm reading this right, the "grand experiment" is for all intents - over. One of the primary selling points of the Class Forums is that we were led to believe that there would be greater contact and a better insight of the desgin process that went into a particular class. With the "posting as he can" line it's seems like there's some back-peddaling going on here in terms of commitment to actual two-way communication communication. Ad i also note that you didnt make a solid commitment to updates

As opposed to

"I will maintain those threads and update as much as possible each month "

You and i , mostly me, have discussed this issue before in terms of two way communiation from Caompany to client. I was gratified to see that perpahsps Blizzard had learned that involving th player in the process was wiser than simply handing down decisions edicts every few months and then having to deal with the fallout of those actions or lack thereof.

To be honest Ghostcralwer was getting more and more frustrated that people simply weren't agreeing with him it seems. A decision would be made and promulagted and some would agree and some others wouldn't. It seems as though that dissent, especially ongoing dissent was if not intially discourged, it eventually was. He seemed shocked and upset that people wouldn't simply agree with him and would adamantly stand by thier position that they felt that the design team in terms of question "X" wer wrong and weren't willing to take his word for it. I think its more than sad that Blizzard has decided to take a step backwards here, if that is in fact what is happening. The bad old days of no ongoing contact, were in fact bad days. You seem to be hoping and expecting players to simply take the 'high road' without regular interaction with the Dev team , well then, all i can say is that you're incorrect.

The content of a forum espceially these forums, are very much dependant on the information that they have at hand to be used. If the regular contact from the Dev teams ends then what you're going to see simply more of the same behaviour that we had in the old class forums of Paladins, Mages etc. Blizzard seemed to be saying for a while that they valued "contructive input", and then it became 'constructive input that we think it okay to post" and finally we're told that people were tired of hearing our complanints, that it wasn't input amymore.

The current PVP situation has certainly exacerbated this situation, were told to be patient, but not idea of what were being patient fore. I myself have more or less given up on PVP for the simple reason is that it has stopped being fun in the larger scale, certainly as a healer, no matter. What we seem to be heading towards is another dry spell were our "input is read' we're told, but little or no real interaction.

I for one find that sad, but perhaps not surprising for the reason i gave above.

As I understand it, Role forums are for complaining and Blizzard interaction. Class forums are for players getting together to help each other play better.

The Role forums are for constructive discussion and interaction. (Not complaining please!) Class forums were left for everyone of a class type to still be able to talk among each other about specific class mechanics, thoughts, playstyles, etc.

This is not the end of anything. Please try not to read too much into what I've said.
Always listen to experts. They'll tell you what can't be done and why. Then do it.
