Thank you Eyonix (not sarcastic)
by Lyone | 03/12/2007 19:01:42![]() TLDR Version: We appreciate Eyonix stopping in just to say, "We are aware of your concerns, and I'm passing them on to the Developers." Eyonix is just the messenger between us and the devs, don't crucify him for their oversight. Don't forget that he is a player of this game too, and deserves respect as such. ================================================================ Thanks for bringing us the updated information about your talks with the Developers regarding Earth Shield & Shamanistic Rage. People seem to lose sight of the fact that while you are a CM & go-between for us and the developers, you are also a player as well. Last time I checked, you weren't pigeonholed into being JUST the Shaman CM. If you're anything like me, you enjoy playing the other classes just to see how their mechanics work firsthand. I can't blame you at all for having a paladin alt, my Retadin is 43; and I've at one point in time had a 60+ of every other class except for Mage & Rogue; having done endgame (at the time) raiding on both a hunter and warrior, and now my shaman. The diversity is what keeps the game interesting. What people need to realize is that these changes have not even come close to going live. The Earth Shield change was announced late on Friday, probably to gauge the community reaction over the weekend to see not only what people who play daily thought, but also to get the reactions of the weekend warriors. Yes, there are glaring weaknesses presently with both Earth Shield and Shamanistic Rage (SR only from a PVP perspective, because from a PVE perspective it's amazing). But we haven't even given the Developers a chance to take our opinions into account and get back to us. Take Eyonix down off of the cross; he's not a developer, just the messenger. If history has taught us anything, it's to not shoot the messenger. by Eyonix | 03/12/2007 19:31:26![]() Thanks for the kind words. Honestly, what sucks is the assumptions people make about me because it ends up causing interference. Today as I reply to threads, players assume my feelings are being hurt, I'm becoming defensive, I'm lying, etc... I would not still be a community manager if my skin wasn't thick. You all can disdain me all you want, that's fine but please just behave properly when I post something, regardless of if it's something you wanted to read or not. I do much more for you all then you give me credit for (especially behind the scenes), and you're just going to have to trust that. I mean really, what do you lose by not trusting that? What is actually gained from attacking me? I'm not going to get fired because the shaman hate me. You're not going to push me over the edge and make me quit. I have far too much passion in what I do and I'm sorry that such is not always evident. |
