Tanning blues

I've been going tanning for about a week and a half now. My fiancee and I are going to Jamaica for our honeymoon and I have VERY fair skin. So many people (including my finacee) suggested I go to a tanning solon to build up a base tan. And while I don't consider myself vain, it would be nice to look good for the wedding. ;-)

Anyhow, I've been tanning four times, for only 4-5 minutes per session. Unfortunately it was just too much for my poor fair skin. As of yesterday, I broke out in hives all over! No sunburn, just hives. And they itch like crazy...

Just thought I'd share my misery...

I've never tried one before but you could always try the sunless tanning lotions from the store. It would probably be healthier for you skin and give you the same look.

*In my defense for replying here, I was curious as to what "Tanning blues" referred to. Now I know. ;)

Q u o t e:

I dont know, i once knew a girl in high school who used tanning lotion, and she just looked orange.

And it looked like some parts were more oranegf than others because it wasn't evenly used?

I dunno, tanning is lame, imo.

I've heard some are better than others. I'd name brands but I don't want people thinking I'm peddling them. There are probably lots of resources on the web with info on the better ones.

Plus there are also those spray on tans too.
