[Suggestion] PvE-->PvP Transfering
by Shnala | 26/08/2008 02:39:50 As it stands, as many of us know, PvE to PvP Realm transfers are not allowed. Now, I'm sure there are more than one reason but the main one I have heard in discussion is that it is unfair to level on a PvE server and than transfer to a PvP server. Here me out on this though. Before WoW MMO's had nowhere near the popularity that they have, or WoW has at least, today. Many people playing this game are MMO newcomers, including myself, but that was 3 years ago. When rolling a new character not everybody understands the repercussions of what server they choose. Many, including myself, take the "suggested" realm given to them. Luckily for me I happened to get a PvP server, which after a lot of days played I realize is my style. But, if I had gotten a PvE server, leveled all the way up, and than realized I wanted a PvP server I would be screwed. I was far into my gaming when I realized there were even different server types and thanked the random generator for giving me the one I like. Even still there are people who did level PvP but transfered to a PvE realm to raid or be with friends. Later on down the road their guild disbands or there friends quit and now they're stuck there. Or vice versa, people/guilds have rerolled to a PvP server in order to raid competitively since the PvE server raider recruitment base is dying. Why? For the same reason, people do not want to be stuck on PvE. So I suggest opening this restriction. Not only could it generate huge amounts of Transfer revenue for Blizz, but it could make their player base much more happy when they realize they chose the wrong server type or are stuck on one they don't want. Now many may say that this is unfair. I imagine this is Blizz's stance as well. So to compromise you could make it a ONE TIME LIFETIME transfer per account. You could also argue that leveling another toon is relatively easy, but easy is a relative term. Many casuals who play this game don't have the time or motivation to re-level could use this one time service. Hell, you could even make it $50 vice $25, or even put a longer cooldown on it. Even in the current situation you can level a toon to 55 on PvE and roll a 55DK on a PvP server. THIS FACT ALONE should be a reason to lift it. Level to 55 PVE, 55 DK PVP. That is 80% of all leveling in WoW pre wotlk. TLDR: Allow transfer from a PvE to a PvP realm. With restrictions/consequences if need be.
