Stuck on cliff

My character is stuck on a cliff on the north end of the island and when i do manage to get my spirt to him i instantly die. Is there anything that i can do ? Do I just to need to give up and start over? any help would be greatly appreciated.

I've looked into this, and it appears that the situation was resolved. If you haven't already, can you see if the character is now in a safer locale?
