Stolen name

"It has been brought to our attention that a recently created character on this account has a name that was already in use. We realize that you may have grown attached to this name; however, the name’s availability was unintended. We have provided the character with a temporary name. You will be prompted to select a new character name upon your next log-in. When selecting the new character’s name, please be mindful of our Naming Policy (http://www.blizzard.com/support/wowgm/?id=agm01722p). For any concerns or disputes on this matter, please contact Account Administration Team via their Website E-mail Form, found at <http://www.blizzard.com/support/wowaa/>. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Thank you for your understanding and anticipated cooperation in this matter. Regards, Game Master Whilmziack Customer Services Blizzard Entertainment " I submitted the following ticket asking for an explanation" I was recently forced to change this characters name from Eternal. The email I received said that I created the character recently. I have had this name since before October 2009. While I do not mind changing the name if truly unavailable. I beliveve I deserve an honest explanation as to why it is necessary. It seems impossible to me that two characters have been using the same name here for 6+ months before it was noticed. Armory shows NO characters named Eternal on Arygos. Please Explain." Still waiting for a reply. If I had been asked to change the name instead of forced I might not have minded. My account has never been banned or suspended. To me it just looks like someone stole my name so another character can have it. [ Post edited by Xandr ] |
by Aredek | 31/05/2010 16:24:41![]() Should a player submit a petition requesting that a name be made available where the name is possessed by a low level character who has not been accessed for an extensive period of time, a member of the Game Master staff may elect to change the character's name to allow it to be used by the character requesting it. If you have a few moments, I encourage you to share your feedback on this issue by sending an e-mail to wowgmfeedback-us@blizzard.com so that the Game Master's manager can go over this with them.
