I have 12.02% critical chance reduction/periodic damage reduction from resilience. I do not have Spell Warding or any other effects that should normally decrease SW:D's damage.

As evidenced by Spell Reflection abilities, Spell Warding, etc., Shadow Word: Death behaves on the Priest as it would on the target.

Hits a naked target for 1208, hits me for 1062. A 12.09% reduction.

Crits on a naked target for 1813, hits me for 1595. A 12.02% reduction.

Shadow Word: Death is suffering reduction from resilience in its backlash. Yay!

Edit: Thanks, Crepusculu. <3

Edit #2: Sorry, everyone.

I think it's impossible for the limited functions of the signature feature to accurately express how awesome I am.

It's fine, Dwarves and Draenei now get Death Coil that doesn't heal themselves.

Thanks. I'll forward the information on in addition to some other resilience based concerns people have brought up so we can make sure everything is working as intended.

Resilience should be affecting crit on SW:D still and that is intentional.

"I meant," said Ipslore bitterly, "what is there in this world that truly makes living worthwhile?"
Death thought about it.
"Cats," he said eventually. "Cats are nice."

Uh oh, there's that phrase -- "working as intended"!

Oh stop. ;/

But why change it? This is actually a beneficial mechanic for priests. Though I know that may be a foreign concept to some of the developers and CM's/

I don't recall saying I was going to research it to get it changed. :) I'm just forwarding some information as comparison to our QA department so we can make sure resilience is affecting what it should be. Someone else yesterday was saying that non-crit damage was being affected by resilience which it shouldn't be to my knowledge. In this case, it seems that resilience should affect the crit whether it's on someone else or on yourself the same and is working properly.

Your right, it is taking damage off on non crits... but it can't crit the caster. It's not a spell like that. You take the amount you deal. It can NEVER crit yourself. Only your target, which then increases the damage you take.

That's why I'm wondering about the resilience affect in this case. It seems it's reflecting the concerns from yesterday's post that it's affecting more than just crit but damage as a whole.
