So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish Feasts
by Zarhym | 24/10/2010 06:33:05![]() This is not the greatest closing ceremony recap in the world, no. This is just a tribute. The curtain has dropped on the closing ceremony of BlizzCon 2010, where Blizzard Entertainment COO Paul Sams kicked off the evening with a video presentation of the show's most epic moments before congratulating the winners of the Warcraft III and StarCraft II tournaments. After that, a new era in the history of BlizzCon was ushered in.... Since the beginning of time, 'twas written in the stones that one day a band would come. And onto the stage that band came, and they were called Tenacious D. Kyle's fingers be silver, Jack's voice then be gold -- and together, the duo rocked the jaw right off Deathwing’s face. After an epic set of legendary hits from the band's two albums, as well as all-new songs, the crowd staggered out of the convention-center doors, faces melted by smoldering guitar strings and minds blown by the sheer musical perfection they had just witnessed. And that’s how BlizzCon ended: not with a whimper, but with an appropriately epic bang. Whether you were here with us at the show, watching at home online or via DIRECTV, or incessantly refreshing Twitter and Facebook on your phone, we’re glad you were able to join us for this year’s show. We’d like to say thanks once again to Jay Mohr, Tenacious D, and our BlizzCon 2010 sponsors, including ASUS, DIRECTV, Intel, NVIDIA, Antec, Razer, Western Digital, SteelSeries, and Vasco. And -- of course -- we’d like to thank all of our players for your years of support and enthusiasm. Without you, we would never have been able to host a single BlizzCon, much less five of them. We’ll have more post-BlizzCon coverage on http://BlizzCon.com over the next few days, so be sure to check back. And remember to send us your photos to BlizzConWeb@Blizzard.com of the sights and sounds from show floor. See you next time! |
