Snobolds during Gormok Encounter

I've searched and I believe this has been posted before however from all the threads I've read, it seems to be misunderstood. I am hoping to get clarification on this and determine whether this is indeed a bug or working as intended.

When targetting a snobold, NOT the boss, is it a bug that Whirlwind does NOT hit the snobold?

When targetting a snobold, cleave hits both the snobold and the boss, I am curious why WW does not have the same behavior.

I can understand that it's not intended for snobolds to be hit by AoE when the boss is targetted as it may make the encounter easier. However I am unsure why WW does 0 damage to snobolds when they are targetted. Some clarification would be greatly appreciated as this is one of a fury warrior's main abilities in their rotation.

Thanks for the report, we'll look into this.

Q u o t e:

Cleave requires a target, WW does not. Cleave hits your target, and chains to additional nearby target(s) with a valid path to the mob. Cleave hits the snobold, and chains to the boss. Whirlwind, however, hits 4 random nearby targets (with I believe priority given to your current target but not required to hit it) where there is a valid path to those targets. Because the snobolds are on the backs of players, there is often a "pathing" error to them, which makes WW not target them. This is also why cleave cast on the boss often ignores the snobolds and why charging or intercepting them doesn't always work either.

This is entirely true, and realistically could be the intended behavior for this situation. We will take a look at it though and make sure that it is working as the designers intended.

Blade Flurry also will not hit Snobolds if you are attacking Gormok.

Was this intended to increase the difficulty level?

I don't believe Killing Spree does either, but I'll have to check a log.

If you are targeting Gormok, then abilities that chain to additional targets will not hit the Snobolds. If you target a Snobold your Blade Flurry will hit Gormok though.
