I've been hearing a lot about slow Lich King downloads, so I thought I'd try to get some more information in a consolidated place. Please, put your answers in this thread. That way, we can keep the forums tidy, and we'll have one place for the devs to look should they need to get involved. Thanks!!

Here's what I want to gather at this time:

1. Wired or Wireless connection used to download?

2. Do you own the network? Are you on a college or business network?

3. Do you have any type of security programs installed on your Mac? If so, what is it?

4. Are you just installing WotLK? Or are you installing over WoW/BC?

Actually, Mourne, yes, you can install from the WotLK disc.

This happens a lot on wireless connections, Magoosh. Try it on a wired connection if possible. If that's not possible, telling it to "Skip" should help.

If the Blizzard Downloader is giving you the following message:
"This computer appears to be behind a firewall"
it's time to check your router and DSL modem, if you are using one...

Firewalls can be found in routers and DSL modems.

For routers you can go to http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/routerindex.htm
- select your specific router
- select World of Warcraft Downloader
- follow the walk-through instructions

For DSL modems, change the Private IP setting to a Public IP setting (look at bottom of modem for sticker with instructions)
