Shouldn't OP be on par with MS?
by Savagetusk | 29/07/2009 03:49:08![]() This is purely speaking of DPS, ignore the healing reduction of MS. Overpower gets 20% bonus weapon damage while MS gets 10% bonus damage and the baseline damage increase, so why does Mortal Strike cost 30 rage while overpower costs 5? Overpower can still be used once every 6 seconds at least, only one second longer than MS. I'm not an expert on warriors, but doesn't it seem like mortal strike should be a lot stronger? |

There is a bit more to this than immediately meets the eye. First off, Overpower is a triggered ability, you do not have this ability ready for use at all times. This goes along way towards keeping the rage cost of this ability on the lower end. Mortal Strike, on the other, has a damage component as well as a percentage addition acquired through talents and glyphs. Of course, there is also the very powerful healing reduction component that increases the value of this ability. Due to the factors involved with Mortal Strike, its cost isn't disproportioned when compared to other Warrior attacks and abilities. |

There is something to be said for a level head when posting a mechanics question. |
