Hi, I'm a study in bad account management and security.

My old computer went KABLOOIE about 2 weeks ago. Some time before that, my account was compromised, I had no idea. Well, I canceled my account, thinking, "I'm not paying for that while I'm not playing that", all the while not knowing that my account was being eyeballed by South Korean gold farmers (I'm not making assumptions, I've looked).

Well, I replaced my KABLOOIE computer, got the innerweb all hooked up and happy, go to renew my account and it's all suspended and such... I haven't played in almost 2 weeks and I'm a sad lil panda.

I kinda knew what was going on. Daisydead is naked on the armory, as are all of my other toons on Deathwing. So, I make a call to blizz support. I wait a really long time (not surprised, y'all are busy and I appreciate that) . Mr Tech support gets my account unsuspended, which makes me very =D

So... my question at this point: I've been downloading the game for MANY HOURS, Mr. Tech Support says I have to wait til I log in to contact a GM, in game, to get all my gear back, I was wondering if there was any way to get that ball rolling now, rather than having to log into my naked toons, then request help?

I'd be happy with just my lil Daisydead so I have something to do while you understaffed, overworked, bunch of QTs work to get my shaman and druid up and running, which, I know y'all will do your best to do.

Wall of drunken forum text and such, but, I would appreciate being able to play one toon I care about tomorrow morning when I get up to do laundry.

P.S, I have the best cookies for whomever helps me, and since I can't really give you cookies, I have the recipe for them instead.

This is in process for you Daisy, but there are a few points I'd like to cover.

First, our current queue times for restorations are actually quite good at the moment, but it's likely to still take a day or two before you see any results from the investigation.

Second, while you may have obtained a new system - be very careful as new systems are seldom updated initially. You'll want to make sure all your programs and OS are current - especially Adobe/Flash.

Last but not least - this may not have been your system, there are other ways they can obtain your information, such as phishing and compromised emails. You'll want to verify your email account is also secure (and not forwarded).

You may also want to look into getting an authenticator for your account. It's no substitute for good security habits, but it will help keep them out of your WoW account.
