We need the possibility to send embedded zeros through the AddOn channel. It is currently possible to send all the other binary characters, just not the zero.

Currently, trying to send a zero just ends the message and everything that comes after it is just ignored. If addons are able to send binary data through that channel, it would both reduce the servers and users bandwidth.

I think there's a lua quoting mechanism, e.g.
string.format("%q", "\0");

I'm not sure, but you could check it out. This isn't something we're going to add support for explicitly though.
