Regarding PTR Notes - Dismouting Feature 2.10

* Using abilities and casting spells that cannot be used while mounted will now auto-dismount players as needed. This can be disabled by turning off the auto-dismount option in the UI options.

Is this done properly so that pressing a key on accident wont dismount a player while flying?

Yep, so you can swoop in, hit the key once to drop onto your target, and fire away!

*grin*

You can also fall to your death, if you like. :)

Q u o t e:

Let's say you have the feature enabled. So I'm riding around on my horsey and I cast a spell. Will the spell actually succeed, or will it give me and error and then dismount me?

The spell will dismount you and then succeed.

Q u o t e:

Also, what if the spell fails for another reason? For example, if I have no target and I press my Frostbolt button, will it say "You have no target" and dismount me still?

No, it will tell you that you have no target and leave you mounted.

I would think you could write an addon that simply turned off that CVAR when you were flying.

Yes, that would be easy to do. :)

Yes. The client will immediately recognize that you've dismounted after you dismount (in the next test realm update)
