I'm not sure if this is technically Mac related but I don't know anyone else with a Mac to ask if they are having the same problem. Currently, any interaction with the Battle.net RealID feature causes a 5-15 sec lag spike with screen freeze. Current actions that cause said spike:
Opening friends list
Having a friend accept RealID friend request
Having a RealID friend Log In or Out
A RealID friend changing their status
You changing your status
Right Clicking in the friends list


Will update if anything else becomes apparent.

Just a few things I wanted to throw in here since I'd like to acknowledge the RealID issue:

Issues:

- RealID adds to the throughput of the game (think of steaming a video while you are playing the game)

- on unstable connections it will stress the connection and cause lag, even possibly high latency and disconnections


How to combat the RealID issue:

- use a wired connection (we don't recommend using wireless for one reason, it's unstable)

- don't add the paper boy as your friend, you don't even know him, and that girl you met last summer in the game, she doesn't want to know you are online playing, also she's a 35 year old guy in real life, basically keep the list to a minimum

- turn it off, you have exceeded your social abilities : even movie stars or Pop stars that play WoW don't exceed their social limits

- clear your network connection : the RealID may not be the culprit after all ( if you see someone running away from someone else, if you only narrow your sights on those two things you may not see the giant robot that they are both running away from ) - my mind is on robots today, hence the very bad analogy


I'll ask around to see if I can find out more info for all of you, to be honest, coming from a communist country I stay away from showing people when I'm online of offline, I keep my life pretty secret. So I don't use RealID.
