RAF Billing Support Helped NO GRANT LEVELS?
by Thirtycent | 05/05/2010 18:15:56![]() Billing phone support retroactively linked me and my recruit. We now have the ability to summon each other but his higher level toon standing right next to me is incapable of granting levels. The text says "Grant a level" but it's grayed out. We also have tried other alts and combination and nothing. 300% experience isn't working either. I have thoroughly reviewed the FAQ but nothing tells me it's working correctly. I'm thinking something didn't get setup right retroactively to provide me with a 30 levels grantable. Please advise on this topic as soon as you can. My link expires on 5/9/2010 at 8PM. I don't know why my initial RAF didn't work... wish it would have so I would have more time to work on this. Sincerely, Joshua F. Rountree |

Yup! I remember that. :) The resolution I used, though, should have affected all in-game benefits, not just the one. So I'm looking a bit deeper this time. BY FIRE BE SECURED! Correct! And that's exactly one of things I was going to verify: when the accounts were linked, and how many levels the recruit character gained since that link was created. Also, just to clarity: Only recruit characters can earn "grantable" levels and, in turn, grant them. Similarly, only veteran characters can receive "grantable" levels. BY FIRE BE SECURED! Unfortunately, that's not what occurred. =/ While you did send out the Recruit-A-Friend invitation correctly, it appears your friend did not use the trial key contained inside to set up his or her account. Instead, your friend's account was created using the online web trial. Because of this, a Recruit-A-Friend account link was not established and, in turn, you and your friend were not eligible for any in-game benefits or subscription rewards. Now, in the cases where we're able to provide a retroactive link, we generally require that one of the two parties involved (veteran or recruit) contact us within one month of the recruit's account creation. This is because the retroactive link process is automated and will set the link "start date" to that of intended recruit account's creation date. Therefore, if we retroactively linked two accounts 2 to 3 months after the creation date, there may be very little time for the veteran and recruit to enjoy the benefits and rewards of the Recruit-A-Friend program. Despite the fact that we didn't receive a call from you until almost 3 months had passed, we went ahead honored your request and retroactively linked your account with your friend's. This technically was an error on our part; your accounts should not have been linked. We recognize this, and sincerely apologize for any confusion. But at least this way, you can still qualify for the subscription rewards and spend some time earning in-game benefits. Now, you're good to summon each other's characters, and we've discovered why "grantable" levels aren't available to either of your characters right now (the recruit character hasn't earned two levels since the link was established). What about triple experience? You've noted that you're not receiving this on any of your characters. Can you provide me the names and realms of two characters that are partied, but not receiving this bonus? BY FIRE BE SECURED! It’s never “too soon” to protect your account. Thank you! If the level 52 character has grouped with any of your characters that you've listed, though, neither one of your characters would be eligible for triple experience. This is because there's too large a level difference between your character and his character. As a reminder, these are the rules for triple experience:
Rule 2) Mobs killed and quests completed must not be marked as "Low Level" or gray in difficulty for either the veteran or the recruit character. Neither character will receive the experience boost if this occurs. Rule 3) Should one character be more than 4 levels higher than the other, only the lower level character will receive the experience boost. Rule 2 still applies. My advice would be for both of you to create level 1 characters. After that, join a party and then kill a creature. Look at your combat log. If you see no notation of triple experience being earned, let me know and I'll do some form of confirmation in our logs. :)
Yes, in fact, they do. I've quoted the requisites for triple experience above. Now I'll quote the requisites for level granting. 1. Levels may only be granted to characters on a veteran account by characters on a linked recruit account 2. Levels may only be granted to characters of the same faction and on the same realm 3. Levels may not be granted to characters over level 59 4. Levels may not be granted to characters of equal or higher level 5. Levels may not be granted once a 90-day account link breaks 6. Levels may not be granted to veteran characters with XP gains disabled. Now, we've already established this, but: as your friend's characters (his level 52, level 21, and level 20) have not each gained a total of 2 levels since your retroactive link was created yesterday, none of characters currently possess any levels to grant.
I can assure you that your friend's account was not created using the Recruit-A-Friend invitation trial key, Thirtycent. While you may have sent the invitation, your friend did not use it. Instead, his account was created using the promotional web trial key advertised on our website. This point is not up for debate, as our records clearly the track what sort of trial key is used at account creation. Again, you've my apologies for any confusion. by Syndri | 05/05/2010 20:31:46![]() No bother at all. I'd really like to figure out why you're not receiving triple experience, though. I've got the time to help get to the bottom of that mystery if you've got those level 1 characters. :) BY FIRE BE SECURED! It’s never “too soon” to protect your account. This I sincerely and wholeheartedly recommend. I would love see a post from you, Thirtycent, on our Suggestions Forum should you have any thoughts on how the recruiting process may be made more player-friendly. Also, my invitation for confirming that your accounts eligible for triple experience is still open. I'm here for (most of) the rest of the day. Just let me know if you'd like to take me up on it. :) [ Post edited by Syndri ] BY FIRE BE SECURED! It’s never “too soon” to protect your account.
