Questionable pull strat for boosting ZF

Hi all,

I'm posting on behalf of a fellow multiboxer, who brought an "interesting" pulling tactic to my attention.

Apparently he's found a spot that forces mobs to be within 21 yards of him -- in particular the hunter mobs in Zul'Farrak. Normally these hunter mobs will "hex" you and turn you into a frog -- which is disasterous to a high-level character who is "boosting" low-level characters through ZF -- you can not dodge/block/parry while "frogged".

In any case, a screenshot of his position is here:
(edited it out in case it IS considered an exploit -- GMs should be able to see)

In his words...

Q u o t e:
I did this pull 8 times with hunters being at ranged and never got hexed when I tanked everyone here. I would get hexed when I moved away from this spot to clean up the last few guys if any hunter were still alive. I tried this on the oposite side of the boxes and got hexed there and got mobs evading me so i moved to this spot. Those boxes are <location omitted>

I understand that evade-bugging mobs to prevent them from using their abilities on you is considered an exploit. If he is in the correct spot he is NOT evade-bugging mobs.

However, using line-of-sight to move a mob to a specific position is not considered an exploit (but, under normal circumstances once they regain line-of-sight they are able to cast 100% of their normal abilities).

My question is:
Is this particular spot in ZF considered an exploit, since it forces the Zul'Farrak shadowhunters to be in a position where they are UNABLE to cast hex on you?

My personal opinion is that it's gray area, but apparently my opinion is somewhat offensive to the original strategist, who believes his pulling location is perfectly legitimate. In an effort to clear the air -- would you mind clarifying this for me?

Thanks!

I took a look and it looks okay. Creative use of game mechanics and all that.

In the event that this changes, I'll let you know. :)

Many thanks! This'll help put people using it at ease. :)

I make it a habit to make sure rules are clear before encouraging anyone to do anything even remotely questionable. I hate seeing unnecessary bans.

In any case, thanks again for clarifying! :)

Anything for you, Vel. :)
