Question about RealID?
by Poena | 11/05/2010 23:46:33![]() How will this function? If I pass this out to friends will it allow them to see the email address associated with my Battle.net account? While I am not concerned about specific friends getting this, I am concerned that some of the friends I would give it to have also been victims of hackers in the past and if this info were public this could also make me a target (as they'd have 1 part of my battle.net login). Otherwise sounds like a great feature. It'll be awesome not to have all 10 of my Fiancee's alts on my friend list... I'll actually have space on my list again! |
by Dresorull | 11/05/2010 23:56:10![]() Poena, To add a Real ID friend to your friends list, one of you will need to know the others email address. When you add someone as a Real ID friend, a request will be sent to the person you invite and they'll need to accept the request before you can see their information (character, server, etc.) in your friends list. Your email address is not displayed in the friends list, and not visible to friends of people you are Real ID friends with. Does that answer your question? Dresorull Blizzard QA |

Jadaree, Grouping cross-server through RealID associations is not planned at this time. You would still need to be in a party on the same server to queue for heroics and/or battlegrounds. Dresorull Blizzard QA |

In-game definition of a Real ID: This is a person you know and trust in real life. You can chat with this person across World of Warcraft servers and across Blizzard games. Character Friend: This is a character you have enjoyed playing with on your realm. You can party and chat with this character. Dresorull Blizzard QA |

I'm sorry, but I can't really offer you an answer to those concerns. Our role here on the test realm forums is to provide information about the systems as they're implemented. If you have design concerns, you're welcome to address them in a thread, but be aware that the blue's that are active on the test realm forums are not the designers that make the changes you're wanting. Your feedback is appreciated, but don't be discouraged just because you don't receive a direct response. Dresorull Blizzard QA |

This is correct, with the exception of SC2 Beta. There will not be any "cross-game" chat for testing on PTR to SC2 Beta. Once the system is live though, you'll be able to talk to SC2 live. You will be able to test cross-server functionality within WoW though on the PTR. Dresorull Blizzard QA |
