I know there will be new mounts and stuff, but I was wondering if Blizzard will allow our 280% mounts (such as netherdrakes, nether rays, gryphons, etc) automatically turn into a 310 if our character owns one. I have a handful of characters with 310 drakes but I'd rather ride one of my 280%'s just for the look.

This. ;) You'll have to pay for the skill, but your mount speed will increase with your riding skill level. This way, you can pretty much roll through all of your favorite mounts without feeling as if you are neglecting any of them.

So the question was answered but now your answer raises another question. The OP stated he had 310 already and then in the response you posted "You'll have to pay for the skill". The assumption currently is that is someone has 310% there is no cost for the training.

As far as I'm aware, you will need to get each successive skill level much like leveling up a profession.
