Quest-Achievement suggestions / fixes
by Nebshar! | 29/07/2008 15:56:04![]() Heya :-) Some suggestions for already existing achievements : - For the individual zone achievements, have counters similar to the # of total quest achievements (i.e. it would be nice to know whether you are at 89/90 Nagrand quests or at 20/90; gives you a good idea of what it'll take to get it done). This might also apply to some other achievement categories (# of vanity pets, # of tabards, or even types of vanity pets/tabards the system recognized so you can make a decision on whether to keep them in your bank or not). - For all quest achievements (or the group in general), maybe explain the rules a little better -- i.e. does a daily quest count once (for its type), every time it is completed, or not at all ? Do turn-in quests count once, not at all, or for every turn-in ? (i.e. If you go from aldor to scryer, you'll do 200-300 turn-in quests. Are they counted as one quest each for the total quest counter ? What about other repeatable quests ? (Turning in 4 PvP marks is repeatable 100 times in short succession, for instance ... And cloth turnins are repeateable ad infinitum, if you really want to). As for new achievements : - Classic Dungeon King (completed all quests for all instances in Classic WoW, where "all" means every quest all characters could complete for every instance) - Burning Dungeon King - Dungion Lich King (those two would just be the relevant ones for tbc/wotlk) Alternatively those could be rolled into the zone achievements already in the system. It's a little harder than just killing the boss :) - The scepter questlines should be good for another 1-2 achievements, i.e. us wannabe-scarab lords who completed the chain but do not get to ring the gong (for instance because at the time our guild decided to pool the farmed materials with another, it was completely unknown that there was a.) a 10 hour mechanic for the gong and b.) no real time constraint to get it done quicker due to the "other " part of the AQ opening; something I still hate you for, Tigole ! :P) - A statistic or achievement for "single most repeated quest"; not sure whether turn-in quests should be counted (but they'd make nice numbers); i.e. "Repeated the same quest 2000 times" or "Repeated the same daily quest 100 times" or such. Not sure how well the backflagging works for this kind of stuff. Apart from quest achievements : - Darkmoon Faire at Exalted. This should really be worth at least an achievement. - Shen'dralar at Exalted. This, also, should really be worth at least an achievement. - Ravenholdt at Exalted. This, naturally, should be worht an achievement (and it is NOT class-specific !) - The above 3 at Exalted. This would be one of those nice meta ones :) I did put some suggestions/fix-suggestions in the game's suggest/bug interface as well, but those are separate issues :) |

Actually, the quest achievements do have progress bars. They are broken in the current beta build but you'll see them again as soon as we patch. We'll also have progress bars for the pets as well. We're working on a solution for the Tabard achievement UI. Hopefully, we'll be able to have a progress bar for that one as well. These are all really strong suggestions. |

For basic quest achievements, assume that Daily Quests or any repeatable quest (this includes most world event quests) *DO NOT* count. If an achievement is looking toward a daily quest or repeatable quest, it will specifically mention that or it will mention the specific quest title. |
