Problems with FPS
by Itsmikey | 30/06/2010 07:59:02![]() Model Name: MacBook Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo Processor Speed: 2.4 GHz Number Of Processors: 1 Total Number Of Cores: 2 L2 Cache: 3 MB Memory: 2 GB Bus Speed: 800 MHz Those are my macbook's specs. All my video effects setting are set on low, and I have a lot of free space on my hard drive, since i clean it up weekly. Even with this i still generate about 5 to 7 fps on average during raids and about 13-15 in major cities if i stand in one spot for about 30 seconds. Any suggestions on how to help increase my fps ? |

Can't do much with the system as in getting a better graphics card so there's a bit of a limitation in that, but making sure the Mac is nice and cool will provide better performance as well, so make sure you have a 3rd party fan control program installed and running and maybe a chill pad as well. Also make sure to delete the Cache ƒolder. I do that after any server maintenance. Old temp files can cause lag in the game. by Radoslawn | 04/07/2010 15:05:37![]() Hello Everyone, I've been searching for any patterns of this, either from forums posts or emails and people calling the tech line, but apart from old Cache ƒolders (old temp files not syncing correctly with new patch data) and very limited hardware/video cards, there isn't much. From all the issues I see the FPS issue, which I still can't duplicate on any of my Macs, seems to be caused by the same things that have cut FPS issues since the beginning of the World of Warcraft: - overheating - limited memory/RAM - limited buffer or hard drive space - limited video cards ( thank you Weztix for your post ) For the most part portable computers are not gaming systems, they are limited in their ability to expand with new game expansions and they overheat. Plus their video cards are very very limited, since they share resources with the rest of the computer. Basically you are trying to use your Ferrari to tow a trailer home.
