I have posted this in the general forums for SC and WoW and been told I should repost it here.

I'm an altoholic on WoW and so are most of my Real ID friends. We character-hop a lot and game-hop between WoW and SC. Before SC came out I could use /r to keep typing to the same person no matter which character he was on.

But now, when I'm playing the campaign in SC and my buddy is checking his WoW auctions on various characters, /r tells me that he's not online and I have to open a whole new chat window everytime he changes characters. Is this a bug in the system or working as intended?

Thanks for the report, as well as the detailed explanation of what you're seeing. This is currently working as intended, as SC2 and WoW handle RID whispers a little differently from each other.

SC2 uses conversations which are actually whispers at a toon level, even though your friend is an RID friend. When your friend changes WoW characters, the first conversation is ended since the character is no longer online. This differs from WoW mainly since you can have multiple characters on WoW. The RID whispers in WoW are designed to go to whichever character your currently on.

This is working correctly for the current design.
