I decided I wanted to faction transfer one of my higher level alliance characters. I don't have access to a credit card, and was wondering if prepaid credit cards are accepted. The billing support page says "Because of address verification problems, pre-paid credit cards and "virtual" credit cards will not be accepted by our authorization system.", yet I have seen CM's and GM's say that they should work fine. I'm wondering if they'll be accepted, and if they are. what do I need to do for them to work?

Cut to a scene of a nice jungle, then BAM!!!! Deathwing swoops down and paves the whole place into a parking lot with his chin... Then opens a Starbucks.......

Pre-paid gift cards are an acceptable form of payment for our online paid character services (PCT, PCNC, and CRC). We are unable to guarantee that all forms of pre-paid gift cards will be compatible, though.

To better increase your card's compatibility, first register the card online and then ensure that it possesses enough funds to account for the full service charge (in this case, $30 USD) and the $1 USD verification, also known as a "ghost charge." Most pre-paid cards have instructions for registration included in the packaging or listed on the backside of the card. :)
