Just wondering if this is by design or an oversight.

So far, the icon for Power Word: Shield is the only one that does not seem to take into account auto-self casting. The icon is always "grayed out" unless I actually target myself (or a party member within range.) The button does work as usual, it;s just the icon that seems unaware of the special circumstances.

Other similar abilities, such as Power Infusion, are working just fine, with their icons properly colored unless the ability is legitimately unavailable.

Just mentioning it because it is a bit disconcerting to see my shield icon always showing as an unavailable ability.

This was sort of by design (by omission), but is planned to be changed back again in 2.1.2
