I was wondering if Blizzard was possibly going to add armor types to the game. Kinda like Age of Mythology if anyone needs an example. SC1 was very unbalanced in the fact that a group of 7 marines could defeat a Battlecruiser. A battlecruiser should be almost impervious to bullets from standard infantry. Leaving it the way it was would be like me and a 5 or 6 others with M-16s sinking an aircraft carrier simply my shooting at it from a distance.

Currently, there are 3 armor types in StarCraft II: Light, Armored, and Building.

Understanding what types of units has plus damage towards a certain type of armor will be crucial in your skirmishes.
