Please fix PlayMusic API
by Morricone | 24/05/2007 00:32:50![]() I'm the author of the 'Soundtrack' addon, and there's been an issue with PlayMusic that has never been fixed, and its a bug reported by all sound addon users. I hope someone at Blizzard is reading this! The issue is with the PlayMusic() method. This takes the path of an MP3 file and plays it in-game, replacing the game's default music. The problem is that it does not replace ALL game's default music. All the intro cues and moments music seems to be unstoppable. The only way to work around this issue was pretty drastic. I have to provide a full set of blank mp3s, named exactly like the intro/moment cues, so that they effectively override those tracks. Obviously this is not an ideal solution. It scares away a lot of users because I provide files in the Data folder, instead of just the Interface folder. Also, it mutes all intro/moments cues, which is not what we really wish for. We just want to mute those tracks when we are playing another one through PlayMusic. Furthermore, it's very hard to figure out what exactly I need to override. I have daily reports from my users about certain areas that still are missing overrides, so they hear two tracks at once. So to recap, please Blizzard, fix PlayMusic so it stops ALL in-game music when used! Morricone http://www.atelierdebercy.com/soundtrack |
