OT: This is all a joke. I mean really.

What is this forum? When we come here, we are always in a fixated mindset. A 'troll' mindset, if you will. We think in a way that our actions will have no consequences, and seek only, usually, to amuse our internet 'peers'.

Tell me, please, OT. What is really going on inside your heads? What are your deepest thoughts about life, the universe, and everything?

Philosophy, current opinions, interesting thoughts, theories, etc. What do you never post about?

I wrote this post on a brief whim that went through my head, and I do believe I've run out of inspiration for the moment.

Take it away, OT.

You have to understand that this is a markedly different forum from General. There is one pure reason why this is true. You mentioned it yourself; there is no consequence. Well, not truly, but in a psychological sense. ;)

On the General forum, and the others that extend from it, there are many people who are looking for causal action. They want to see consequence from their immediate action. They want to drive up to the window, place their order, and pull around. They want to submit their suggestion and see it implemented.

Cause and effect is not something that can easily be translated by these forums. That is, so far, the best sentence I have found to describe the core function of these discussion boards. The process of development works much slower than the cycle of human patience, so you inevitably end up with foot tapping.

It has been said that desire is the root of all suffering.

By looking at a sample of the posts on these boards, you may begin to see why such a statement has merit. You simply have to listen to what they're saying, because they are speaking of their wants. At its core, people want to change the world to the way they see fit, or the way that accomodates their living.

This, seemingly, becomes so much easier in a digital world. However, it seems so many rules of iteration still apply. Evolution is still a crawling process, not a jumping one. Anybody who cries out about innovation and originality has never really done any creative work. Never really invested themselves into the process of what it takes to create the "new".

I'd rant more, but I'm tired...

Q u o t e:

When you say "cries about originality", do you mean: Cries about no body being creative anymore or Cries about everyone trying to be creative falsly?

"You just have to get creative, Blizz! You know what I'm talking about!"

I just got done watching a MythBusters where isolated toothbrushes that were covered and nowhere near a bathroom came back positive for fecal matter being on them. Everyone has traces of poop in their mouth apparently.

Human mouths are one of the best sources for infection. That's why zombie bites are what they are. Infection of human madness through the most plagued outlet; the mouth.

Language is a virus perpetuated by the mouth. Plague of madness.
