I just got a new graphics card, and I'm still falling to ~30 FPS on ultra (minus shadow settings a tick). This means that I get higher average FPS in Crysis, Grand Theft Auto IV, Fallout 3, heavily-modded Oblivion, etc. than I do in this game. Am I doing something wrong? It just doesn't seem right that a Core i7, 12 GB RAM, Radeon HD 5970 system would still struggle with a five-year-old game engine. Are there any chances that the game engine will be updated for scalability in Cataclysm? DxDiag report below.

This game isn't a GPU-pusher. Upgrading it when it isn't a bottleneck will result in almost no change. Cataclysm will bring better graphics support which will be detailed as time gets closer but whether it'll push your GPU remains unseen. Most likely that portion won't change.
