Hello, this has nothing to do with WoW, but I figured I'd ask here just to get some answers maybe.

My LCD monitor turns on for half a second then flickers off. This problem happened yesterday and I turned the monitor on and off and few times then it eventually stayed on. I tried that today and it just won't stay on.

The monitor is a 4-5 year old LCD, I have a feeling the monitor is just going bad after all these years, but it's just so weird that it would do this out of nowhere. Thanks.

Is the power cord and the DVI/VGA cord firmly connected to the monitor? If they are, you're looking at the monitor or maybe the resolution/refresh rate being sent from the video card. Does it stay on if it's not connected to anything? A lot of monitors will give you the No cable connected message when it isn't hooked up.

Oh so your screen's back light is going out. There are some writeups on how to check/replace those but it involves taking your LCD monitor apart.
