Mode Not Supported
by Dyran | 17/03/2010 02:50:12![]() I just got a Mac Mini today and I am trying to play wow on it. I transferred the files over from my Macbook Pro and renamed the config.wtf file. I tried to start WoW. TV went to "mode not supported". Opened the config.wtf and set the gxResolution to 1920x1080 (the resolution the monitor is displaying in currently. Restarted WoW. Same result. I set the resolution to 800x600 and the game will open and play (albeit a very poor resolution). I used to have a Windows box connected to the same monitor and it ran at 1920x1080 just fine. Any ideas? |
by Radoslawn | 17/03/2010 14:10:41![]() Hello Dyran, Go ahead and delete the WTF ƒolder completely to let the game choose the best resolution, and reset PRAM just in case the Mac Mini is now confused about it's abilities: Reset PRAM: (Note: in order for this procedure to work the sound must be working normally and not muted) 1. (re)start the computer 2. right after the initial system chime press Opt+command (Apple)+p+r 3. hold these keys down until you get two more chimes 4. let go of the keys and let the system boot up naturally (do not press any keys) ( If sound is not an option: press the keys stated above right after the (re)start, and instead of listening for the 2 chimes, the screen will flash white 2 times.) Also since you moved the World of Warcraft ƒolder from another user, have you reset the permissions to work with this new user yet ?: 1. Select the World of Warcraft folder 2. press Command + i 3. in the World of Warcraft Info box, go to the Sharing & Permissions section 4. click on the lock and unlock it 5. make sure you have Read & Write permissions 6. click on the Burst icon ( cog wheel ) and select Apply to enclosed items** ** If using Mac OS 10.4.11, just click on the Apply to Enclosed items button. Now test the game and let me know how things go. HAPPY 21 !!! New Year predictions for Blizzard...
