Lost but not forgotten, I'd like to forget it
by Sabii | 10/05/2010 21:01:06![]() For the alliance players who never played horde or people who skipped Durator. There was an optional quest in Durator where an old Orc lady is missing her son. He went to do something (I forgot the details) by the crocs along the river. She is worried something happened to him and asks you to find some sign of his fate. In a pre-cata Azeroth this was OPTIONAL and good thing it was cause it had a horrible drop rate. Most of the time I would just ignore this quest. If I did complete it, it was just cause I was lucky and had killed a wandering croc who annoyed me usually way after I out leveled the quest. Oh I have tried to complete the quest but after a while and no quest drop it became a waste of time where I could be doing other quests for more XP and better QR. Now it's part of a branching quest. Once your done with Razor Hill (aside form the burning blade) the goblin tells you to go to the look out tower. The guy up there says "omg look at all the water, that shouldn't be here" (paraphrasing) He gives you a telescope to find 4 stranded hordies. Saving the 4 horde are part of one quest but all 4 have their own quest. One you get the old kill x quil boars mini chain One is an escort, which actually wasn't annoying, shaman are quite interesting. One is a troll that says "haha I'm not stranded but since you're here" and the last is the same pre cata quests with the same low drop rate "lost but not forgotten" So as before you could skip it cause it didn't lead anywhere and wasn't required for another quest, now not so much. It's rather annoying and really breaks the pacing of the quests in Durator. Not only that with all the changes and small advances in the quests stories why is granny still stuck in her own time bubble from 6 years ago? tl;dr The quest still exsists in it's 6 year ago form, same story, same really low drop rate. It doesn't fit the feel of the new Durator. "I found your amulet 6 years ago did you have another sone give it to him and he too got eaten by crocs??" and the low low low drop rate breaks the flow of questing. IIRC the drop rate was upped at one point, it seemed to have been lowered again. At least take it out of the "quest bunch" for rescuing the 4 hordes at most change it so she wants you to kill a bunch of crocs for her dead son to show that she's not stuck in a odd time bubble or suffering from alzheimer's and just likes to kill her children by feeding them to crocs. you know I shouldn't write these things they tend to go on and on |
by Valnoth | 17/06/2010 03:44:15![]() This quest is currently bugged. Crocolisks are supposed to drop several teeth with every kill, but the item is not currently on their loot table. This will be fixed in the next build. Lead World Designer |
