Loot to wrong person, won't fix.... why not?

I went with my guild to Karazhan tonight. I was the master looter and we were starting a new DKP system this run with new addons, etc. to track it. On Attumen, I accidentally gave myself an epic necklace to d/e when I meant to give myself the other item to d/e.

I figured I'd just page a GM and have it all fixed, right?

Wrong.

For some reason, they won't move this item to the person who won it. 3 GM's all said the same thing. Yes there is a confirmation window, but I don't know the names of the items off the top of my head. It was an honest mistake, happens to more than just me, I'm sure.

So why can't we move items anymore? What's the big deal? Do you really think I would take an item that gives +agi and +hit as a holy priest on purpose?

It's just silly.
Have you hugged a healer today?

In the interest of saving time, Falynn, allow me to revisit a response I offered to a similar concern the other day. To wit:

Q u o t e:
Although I fully appreciate your fervent desire to see this matter resolved to your satisfaction, Ladyluck, I'm afraid that the previous posters are correct in saying that -- in the event that a Bind-on-Pickup item, despite the measures in place to avoid such errors, is inadvertently assigned to the incorrect person -- we are unable to redistribute the then Soulbound item to another player, regardless of the exact circumstances involved.

As a general rule, we believe the safeguards that have been implemented, chief among them a confirmation dialogue box asking whether the Master Looter is certain he or she wishes to give X item to Y player, are sufficient to discourage an unfortunate situation such as yours, so long as the Master Looter is cautious to ensure that the rightful recipient is chosen. The mantle of Master Looter is not one to be taken lightly, and the decisions made from that position of relative power are considered to be final; it is therefore strongly encouraged that whoever is selected to fulfill this role realises the gravity and finality of their judgment, and treats the assignation of Epic items with the reverence and attention it deserves.

Should you feel that additional safeguards could be brought into play, or that our policies regarding the redistribution of Soulbound items ought to be revisited for the possibility of future change, then the Suggestions Forum should be your destination; in the meantime, I'm truly sorry that such regrettable circumstances have befallen your guild. I wish you and yours the best in reacquiring the desired item and distributing it correctly. :)

Should you require any further clarification, however, I am more than happy to provide it. Do let me know, Falynn. :)
