Looking for Writers
by Amedeah | 24/01/2008 22:06:10![]() Heya girlies (and guys)! I have a couple ideas that I would like to throw out there and have a little bit of feedback on. It will only take a couple minutes so please read on ;) I have a couple websites that I run in my free time. I've mentioned them before on the forums, so you may have heard about them or even visited them. The first one is WoWChix.com. This site, is basically just my blog about WoW and things going on inside of WoW and such. I have been working on it quite a bit this month really trying to get it off the ground as a gaming blog that is recognized in the WoW Community. I made this site, because I wanted to have a place that female gamers could have a WoW blog of their own to read (and eventually even submit stories, articles, blogs, etc. to the site). Most gaming sites are by guys and are normally aimed at the male gaming audience. But I'd kind of like my site to be the other way around. I would like to add some more sections to this site ( i.e. player written guides for quests, grinding faction, best places to grind money or mats) and see it really get a jump start and start getting recognized. My other site is ZomgItsAGirl.com. This site is brand spankin' new this year. I have barely had any time to add much content to it. I made this site because I wanted to sort of branch off from writing solely about WoW. I wanted to write about music, movies and any other kind of entertainment I could think of. I still want it to be considered as a "gaming site," though. That would be the main focus of the site. I am very much a gamer in every sense of the word and I want to share my passion of that with others. Right now this site doesn't have much content on it at all. I've only been working on it in my free time (which is hardly any haha). I am thinking about using another theme for it at the moment but I'm not sure yet. Even though there isn't much in the way of content... I have worked my butt off on getting everything looking right and all that jazz. Anyway, the point of my post is this: I'm offering spots on my site for people to submit articles, blurbs, blog posts, etc. to my sites. If you like to write about MMO's, console games, books, music, movies... just about anything media related, then this might be a good chance for you to get your work out there and on the net. You will get FULL CREDIT for every single word that you write. The posts will show up under whatever name you choose (within reason of course). If I like your work, I might even ask you to come back as a reoccurring writer. And if I REALLY like your work, I could possibly ask you to be a permanent addition to the site. (Permanent additions, if chosen, would be entitled to a percentage of however much money the site makes.) These sites were made with the idea of, "For girls by girls!" I would love to see what other female gamers have on their minds and what they would like to say about WoW and other games as well as other forms of media. If you are interested, please visit http://wowchix.com and shoot me an email (my email addy can be found on the site in the "About Jesster" page) and we can go from there! I hope to hear from ya soon! Jesster http://www.zomgitsagirl.com http://www.wowchix.com |

by Nethaera | 25/01/2008 18:54:04![]() Let's refrain from getting into a gender war in this thread. I'm going to move this to off-topic as well. |
