by Mikeb | 28/02/2007 01:26:24 Why should a druid be superior to a warrior in tanking? Druids are made on the principle that they have many possible roles. However, because they have that versatility, they should not be as good at those roles as the classes which are stuck with them. Before the nerf, a bear form druid could outtank and outdps a prot warrior, at the same time. However, a druid could also spec to heal or damage cast (oomkin). Not only that, but with a gear swap, they could become rogue like. Warriors, on the other hand, are stuck tanking if they are prot, pvp dps if they are arms, and pve dpsing if they are fury. Not only that, but they were bested in all of these roles by other classes (druids, every class but rogues, and almost every non healer class including feral druids respectively.) Druids, however, have pvp dps, pve dps, and tanking all in one tree, not to mention the other options available to them. Warriors were losing tanking spots to druids, and this was not good. A druid is versatile, a warrior is not, so yes, a warrior should be better at the roles that he does than a druid is. You dont like that idea? Then don't play a druid, because as long as you play a hybrid you are not going to be as good at specific roles than the classes that have less versatility. The recent "balance" that you enjoyed was overpowered. Above average dps and tanking in one tree was wrong. If you wanted to be a tank, why would you have rolled a druid? Hybrid means versatility, not doing every task better than everyone else. You may say, "but warriors can go from tanking to dps!" This may be true, but it requires completely regearing and a respec. Now, you can go ahead and commence the "stfu warrior," "l2p," and all your other flames now, but try to look at the situation logcially. A druid is a hybrid, and like it or not, you will never be better at a specific role than a non hybrid. im in ur kara tankin ur mobs -Kalista, level 70 druid |
