I logged in today and everything was fine until i pulled the new steed out of my mail then my screen flipped out and started showing lines and flickering like crazy. I logged out to see if that would fix it and now i cant even see the log in screen its just a bunch of lines jumping around the screen and not showing anything. Any help would be nice

Hi Vtvviperx,

The steed is just an icon with a picture of a...steed on it until you learn it. It's no different than any other spell or item's icon. It sounds like your video card died for some reason though. Can you tell us more information about your computer? You can find most of the information if you go to Start -> Run -> dxdiag (or on Windows Vista/7, Windows Key + R -> dxdiag)

I'll need the following info:

Operating system:
System Manufacturer:
System Model:
Processor:
Memory:
DirectX Version:

Device Name:

The FX 5500s are pretty ancient. Can you try checking the fan real quick to see if it's still spinning freely?

You currently have the last drivers that we test for the FX series and we don't see it with the Celestial mount. You could try forcing the game to run in a lower-stress Software Transform and Lighting mode to see if the screen will appear correctly.

  • Right-click on the shortcut you use to start WoW and select "Properties"
  • You should see a target line in the new window that is already highlighted.
  • Add -swtnl to the end of what is already there, be sure that there is a space between the hyphen and the end-quote and that there is a space.

It should look similar to this:
    "C:\Program Files\World of Warcraft\Launcher.exe" -swtnl

    Try the game again afterwards.

You can post it on a photo album or at a place like http://imageshack.us and give us the link. If you were to run a video stress test like Furmark, do you see the same type of effect?
