"localization.xml" error when installing BC

by Kellus | 22/03/2007 06:09:17

I am re-installing WoW on my PC after a few idle months, and when I begin to install the BC expansion, once it gets to 32% on the first disk, it says "Install disk 2."

Ok, so I install disk 2. Then the installer freezes somewhat, and an error message comes up saying that the localization.xml file could not be found, and I therefore can't install BC.

Does anyone know what I should do here?

Greetings Kellus,

As a test, are you able to copy the files from the installation CD's to a temporary folder on your computer? The error will commonly be from an in-ability to read the required data from the CD, and copying the files should let you know if the CD's are good or if they may be damaged. You may also want to check the CD for smudges or fingerprints and re-try the installation.

If you are able to copy all of the files form all of the installation CD's, you can then run the install from the hard disk directly.
