I would expect to get 90-120 ms but I'm getting 250-300+ on Dunemaul. any suggestions?

Hello Spoolin,

The big problem is that the trace route looks fine, nothing over 250 milliseconds, even at our server. Are you running anything else in the background on your Mac ? Also what kind of connection do you get when you use a wired connection, just to see if there's an issue with your wireless connection.

No matter how simple the ??? seem, we were all nbs at one time.

Hello Spoolin,

Q u o t e:

The interesting thing is is that I previously played on Argent Dawn and I was getting 70-90 ms from there with no spikes.

Sweet, well in the terms that it gives me another way to go with this, since I don't think your service provider is having issues or the server. Did you get a disconnection at any point from this server at any point ?

Either way try the following, I'm thinking it's just a connection corruption having a tough time syncing correctly with the server/realm...

This is usually caused by an IP corruption. Do me a favor and try the following...

1. delete the Cache and WTF folders in the World of Warcraft game folder
2. clear out any IP connection corruption (do both of the two procedures below)

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Flush the DNS cache:

- Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities open Terminal.app)
- type in the following:

For Mac OS 10.5 - 10.6: dscacheutil -flushcache
- press Return

For Mac OS 10.3 - 10.4:lookupd -flushcache
- press Return

( The system will not give any type of acknowledgment after you run the command. )

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Reset PRAM:

(Note: in order for this procedure to work the sound must be working normally and not muted)

1. (re)start the computer
2. right after the initial system chime press Opt+command (Apple)+p+r
3. hold these keys down until you get two more chimes
4. let go of the keys and let the system boot up naturally (do not press any keys)

( If no sound : press the keys stated above right after the (re)start, and instead
of listening for the 2 chimes, the screen will flash white 2 times.)

Now try to connect to the game and test that realm.

Hello Spoolin,

Trace routes are both clean. Did you clear your connection yet ? Also when running the game put it in window mode and open up the Activity Monitor.app and see if anything else is running in the background. Also do you use LittleSnitch ?

Hello Spoolin,

Trace is fine, nothing over 250 milliseconds and no real breaks.

Q u o t e:
I really do feel its a connection issue and not anything running on my system.

There is nothing in any of your trace routes to show a connection breakdown. Try testing the game by itself, that includes not running Ventrillo, and making sure you have no software set up in your Login Items.

Do me a favor and mail your Apple System Profile report to macsupport@blizzard.com with Attn: Radoslawn in the subject line, and also mention your screen name:

To make an Apple System Profile Report:

- go to Apple menu

- make sure to export the file in System Profiler 4.0 (XML) format
- e-mail that report as an attachment
