Lag spikes :(
by Wubs | 12/05/2010 05:17:56![]() I don't know if this is belongs here but I use a Macbook Pro so it seemed fitting. Anyway, the problem I'm having is that even though with ~120ms latency and 20 mbps down I still get lag spikes every so-often, causing arenas and raids to be very difficult to take part of. I've tried moving my router, using an ethernet cable, using a different ethernet cable, and nothing seems to work. I read that Time Warner is having some issues like this and I was wondering if it was at all fixable? Any help would be MUCH appreciated. Wubba는 참담하다 ^ ^; <Ebayed Raiders> |
by Radoslawn | 12/05/2010 15:29:00![]() Hello Wubs, Lag can be caused by other factors rather than just internet connection. Do you use any 3rd party AddOns ? Also when's the last time you deleted the Cache ƒolder ? Old temp files can cause lag when they don't sync correctly with the data on the server correctly. Also I haven't heard anything on the service provider but check your trace route to verify the connection is good: 1. log into the game 2. put it in window mode Command + M 3. go to your Macintosh HD=>Applications=>Utilities=>Network Utility.app 4. select the Netstat tab (• Display the state of all current socket connections) 5. click on the Netstat button on the right (wait a bit) 6. find the first foreign address that says battlenet:
7. copy the foreign address in front of the one that has battlenet on it (ie. 206.17.111.7) 8. select the Traceroute tab 9. paste the address into the box/window 10. click on the Trace button on the right 11. copy the data 12. reply to my/our post and paste that info, please [ Post edited by Radoslawn ] No matter how simple the ??? seem, we were all nbs at one time.
